Plymouth Community Band

PCB Logo.jpg

The Plymouth Community Band, under the direction of Carl Battishill, is composed of 55-75 volunteer, amateur musicians (winds & percussion) who enjoy coming together to make music in a “concert band” arrangement. Members come from all walks of life, have diverse backgrounds and experiences and range in age from teenagers to octogenarians. The Plymouth Community Band was founded in 1960, as a German “oompah” band, and has remained intact ever since, evolving into its current concert band arrangement. They are perhaps best know as Plymouth’s “Concerts in the Park” band, due to their long-standing tradition of performing six Thursday night concerts in Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth in June and July. The band rehearses once a week, year round (except for August), and performs other outdoor concerts as well as a slate of indoor concerts during the school year.

Concert site is Sunset Point located at the Western tip of Belle Isle (facing the Renaissance Center).. Look for lawn signs directing traffic. Concert attendees are advised to bring lawn chairs and blankets for their comfort. Concert may be cancelled at the last minute due to weather conditions. The button below will show the exact location on Belle Isle.
